Ideas For Easy To Do Yourself, Bridal Makeup?
Hi Everybody….
I am getting married June 27th, & have been trying to figure out if I should do something different for my makeup.
I usually only wear Foundation, Blush, eyeliner & mascara. I have kind of oily skin & so lots of eyeliner & eyeshadow never stays so I get frustrated & hardly wear it. But I didnt want to look plain the day of the wedding, & dont have the means to hire somebody since I am already having my hair done.
I have fair skin, blue eyes & long eyelashes. Does anybody know what colors would help pop my eyes without having to wear a lot. Or if there is a simple way to have the eyes look nice without having to buy a lot of product????
I hear people always talking about primers, that go under eyeshadow & whatnot, but I dont know much about them & if they would really help, since my skin is kind of oily.
Any suggestions would help, I have been looking on youtube but that I would ask here.
Thanks!

As for primer, I use Urban Decay Eye Potion. It works sooo well. If I’m going out for the night or whatever & put it on & forget to wash my makeup off, my eyeshadow will still be perfect the next day. I definitely recommend it. And for $16.00 you can’t go wrong.http://www.urbandecay.com/categories/Eye…
For eye shadows I would stay with neutrals. Maybe use a nice champagne color & a darker brown as a shader & for eyeliner.
Here’s a great foundation primer as well. It makes your skin so soft looking & your foundation & blush won’t move all night. MAC also has one but I like this one better.http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh…
The primer is a little pricey so if you don’t want to spend that much I recommend this spray. You just spray it on your face after all your makeup is applied & it makes it waterproof, sweatproof, rainproof, everything. It really keeps it nice & fresh looking all day.http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh…

I recently read a book about bridal makeup, & the author suggested that you choose your makeup based on what time of the day the wedding is, as well as your personality.
If you are having a morning wedding, she suggests that you do light, natural looking makeup & save the heavy & bold looks for evening. Foundation or tinted moisturizer with a nice dewy or semi-matte finish, a nude or pale eyeshadow, pencil eyeliner (or you can skip the eyeliner), mascara, light blush, & light lipstick or gloss.
If you’re having a mid-day wedding when the sun is at its peak, then you’ll want a bit more coverage & color. Avoid foundations that have a sheen, because your face will end up looking shiny. Instead, use either a matte finish foundation or powder, pencil eyeliner, & eyeshadow in a neutral or medium shade, a bit more blush or bronzer, & a medium shade of lipstick.
With an evening wedding, you can use any type of finish for foundation & darker, brighter, or overall bolder color choices. A good option for an evening bride is to do a smokey eye & nude face, or a neutral eye with lots of mascara & a bold lip in mauve or red.
Here are some sample photos of great bridal makeup for different times of the day:

You can always visit a department store’s makeup counter for a free makeup consultation & makeover. You can let the makeup consultant know about your skin or makeup issues, that you are looking for a bridal makeup look, & what time of the day your wedding is, & you should be able to book an appointment for a free makeover. Afterwards if you like the look you can purchase the same makeup products that the consultant applied to your face & re-create the look at home. My favorite counters are Clinique, Estee Lauder, Shiseido, & Lancome.

I invested in a Bare Escentuals Starter Kit for my wedding day & I loved it. The make-up is nice & light & it looks so natural. I also have oily skin, but since Bare Escentuals is all powder I haven’t had such a problem with it anymore.
I’d suggest going to your local Sephora, all the girls there know exactly what they’re doing. They can recommend everything from what kind of false eyelashes would look best to what fragrance would smell divine on you. Just have a visit with them & listen to everything they tell you. You can make the choice to buy from them, or go to your local drugstore & buy something less expensive. If you don’t want to talk to a consultant, you can try almost anything on in they’re store… So you can experiment with different colours & textures to see what you like & what looks good.
As for application, I would use YouTube. I used an askmemakeup video to get my smoky eyes for my wedding, she has the best smoky eyes… And you can always tone down the make-up by not using as much or using more neutral colours. She even has a video called “Classic Bridal Makeup”.
Good luck hun!

I think that brown eyeliner would open your eyes more than black, since you have blue eyes. I think that an eyeshadow primer would be perfect for your problem. Here are some good ones: http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=E…
Wear light colored eyeshadow, maybe a light lavendar or creamy ivory. Mascara is personally my favorite, & Maybelline Define A Lash is a great product. It highlights every lash & is cheap, too. Here it is: http://www.walgreens.com/store/pickcolor… some rosy blush & for lips, stick with a natural salmon color. If you want to really shine on your wedding day, add some glitter from the crease of your eye to your brow, on the apple of your cheeks, & all over your lips. Good luck & Congratulations!

Congratulations on the wedding!!
Given that summer months can be hot & humid you’re most definitely going to need a primer. I suggest MAC’s Prep+Prime. It’s about $30 but you wont regret the purchase. Using a primer on your skin will cover up your pores, help with oil control & make your foundation glide on.
After washing & drying your face, apply your moisturizer, primer, concealer (where needed), foundation & loose powder. You will want to use all of these so your pictures turn out flawless.
Groom’s dont want to see their wives looking like hoochies on your wedding day also, so there’s no need to wear outrageous eye makeup. My eyes are blue as well & I love using a medium brown on my lid. You can also go to MAC or any makeup counter & invest in a beautiful eyeshadow! Curl your lashes, apply two coats of mascara & some natural eyeliner.
Bronzers also look really beautiful in the summer. Pair it with some pink blush & lipgloss & you’ll be a beautiful bride!!

well since its your wedding, your going to look flawless regardless because its your special day. A good foudation is bare minerals. its super light & makes you look airbrushed. eyelashes are such a great asset to have, especially if you ahve blue eyes. By putting on black mascara, your eyes will automatically pop. it all depends on what look your going for. You could do smoky eyes. Or you could go very traditional with soft makeup. I say your best bet is really playing up your eyes. & primers are great! you just smear it on & the color of your shadow is alot more true & vibrant. sephora does free make up. you just call a few days before & they do free makeup! & they dont cake on foundation like mac does….i say you go for sephora!

If you have more than yourself getting your hair done, talk to the salon, some times they will throw in the make-up for free.

my skin is the same way.
the day of your wedding dont wear foundation it just makes your skin more oily than it is.
and light & dark purple mixed really helps makes blue eyes pop out.

an idea for the eye liner- use a liquid one… i get very oily skin in the summer & the liquid liner stays put. also a good investment is bare minerals makeup. it stays put & it gives a freshface look instead of looking like a hooker

Go to the nearest department store that has an Estee Lauder counter. Talk with a beauty advisor there about your concerns & let her help you design a make-up for your special day that will be pretty & will last. It’s all in knowing what products to use & how to use them. Good luck & happy wedding.

How about putting your foundation on & then putting powder over the top of that (Don’t forget your eyelids). Next, eyeshadow, then line your rims & lower lashes with a waterproof eyeliner, then finish with a waterproof mascara. I would also add a bronzer to your cheeks, lipliner & lipstick to your lips. Congratulations!

brown or a plum colored eyeliner will make your eyes pop. stick to your regular make-up routine, your wedding day is not a good time to start experimenting with your make-up. also, put foundation on your eyelids so that your shadow will “stick” & become oily. oil sheets are good for your oily skin, use them instead of constant re-applying of powder, too much powder will make your skin look cakey.

Don’t over do it. It won’t feel natural for you & if you’re doing it yourself, you may end up looking like a clown if you don’t normally wear makeup. As for the oily skin, it’s hot! you may find more problems if you attempt to over do it. Use blotting paper just before the photos to be sure you’re skin doesn’t have that oily glow. As for the eyes, soft brown is always best. keep it simple keep it light. You may add a little shimmer to the brow area (careful not to over do it) which will help bring your eyes out. Enjoy your day!
