Eyelash Answers

I wear mascara everyday, I wear contact lenses, & I have dry eyes. With all that abuse, I have some eyelashes fall out every now & then. I noticed that I have a little empty spot where some eyelashes used to be (it’s not that noticable but I know that it’s there & I’d like to fix it).
Have you tried any eyelash conditioning stimulant / growth stimulant? Did it work for you? Exactly what happened? Length? Volume? Thickness? Did you grow new eyelashes? Which brand did you use?

What I want is a fuller lash line (more eyelashes), NOT longer lashes. My lashes are already a decent length & I don’t want them to get TOO long if I use an eyelash conditioning stimulant.
Also, is there any natural way to condition eyelashes? Such as with essentials oils, etc.? Can you recommend a natural way?

I ask bc Ive been using mascara, but the lashes on my right eye are just falling out like crazy , but the ones on the left are normal. So I read on this website that vaseline does make the lashes less dry & fall out less so they can grow.http://www.carefair.com/hair/vaseline_ma…
I was wondering is that really true? It looks like it does seem to work. Ive been using it for three days so far. If it does really work, how fast does it work?

I use fake tan & hair extensions on my four year old.
‘It’s a daily routine, Maddie loves being a girly girl.’ Harriet Avery insists. Anyone could be mistake of thinking Maddie was a young teenager, experimenting with make up & fake nails for the first time, when in actual fact Maddie is a four year old child who hasn’t even started school yet.
Whilst plastering her daughter with a face full of make up, Harriet again assures me, ‘Maddie just loves the glamour; she’ll definitely be a model when she’s older.’ Looking at young Maddie she seems miles away, not even registering her mothers words, just sat there silently like a human dress up doll.
Shockingly, Maddie has been competing in pageants since she was just one year old, even then Harriet openly admits to applying ‘light’ blusher to her baby to ‘highlight her cheekbones’. Since then Maddies ‘daily routine’ has become a lot more intense, looking around the four year olds room it appears more like a salon than a room for play, there are boxes full of bright make up in every colour you could imagine, hair extensions on the side ready to be applied to Maddie’s scalp & a personal spray tanning machine Maddie was given for her third birthday, ‘when Maddie’s older I will take her to our local salon as their sun beds are cheaper than fake tan.’ Harriet’s comment really disgust me, with all the danger warnings being constantly broadcasted in the media how sun beds can increase skin cancer up to 75%, I can’t believe how any mother would inflict this danger on their child.
As Maddie’s hair is being perfectly backcombed & bright pink eye shadow applied to her eyes I seem to see a much different picture than Harriet does. I see a four year old child who is naturally blessed with a beautiful face being made up into a young drag queen. I ask whether Maddie wears full make up to school, Harriet answers ‘no just powder & mascara, but on a non uniform day we go all out to impress.’ Does Harriet ever consider how Maddie’s teachers & school friends react to her ‘all out to impress look,’ & the fact she’s made into a laughing stock.
At 2 years old Maddie came runner up in the ‘Little Miss Pageant Queen’ title for the toddler category. Harriet says ‘this is one of her greatest achievements hopefully she’ll actually win next time’. Surely this is unhealthy for such a young girl, how does Maddie feel when she doesn’t win? Children take things to heart, will Maddie start to think to be accepted she has to be the prettiest girl? I can’t help thinking as I look through the photos what a waste of a childhood, children should be climbing trees & going to the park, not applying fake eyelashes & nails daily. Does Harriet ever stop to realise how much emphasis she teaching her daughter to put on her appearance & how she may be setting her daughter up for a serious problems such as anorexia or body dysmorphic disorder which are all outcomes of not feeling attractive enough.
Harriet shows me the rosettes & special awards Maddie has won since her beauty queen ‘career’ took off, I see the wall plastered with pictures of Maddie collecting trophies & certificates. Many of the pictures show Maddie posing in bikinis & skimpy costumes, despite me questioning Harriet whether she believes she’s sexualising her child & making her a target for paedophiles, Harriet insists ‘you get weirdo’s everywhere , I don’t see why Maddie would be a direct target’.
When I asked what are the costs involved with all Maddies beauty treatments Harriet tells me her private tuition bills for dance & drama lessons tops £200 a month. Every time Maddie has a contest she gets brought a new dress which can cost up to £1000 as they are one of a kind & uniquely made by a top designer.
Harriet estimates that the total cost of all Maddie’s make up would top £2000 as its all the best makes such as Dior & channel. I ask Harriet does she ever think it’s a waste of money, she replies ‘not at all, Maddie will be on Broadway by the time she’s 12, she’ll definitely make the money back, I want her to experience life at its fullest & be successful, this is what she wants to do’. I wonder how can Maddie even know what she wants to do, she’s been doing this since she was one, when has she had the chance to voice her opinion its more likely Maddie is going along with her mothers pushy ways to avoid being a let down.
In the past women were burning their bras, that may seem extreme to think of nowadays, however, the moral statement still rings true today. Women of any age especially young girls should not be paraded before a panel of judges, to be marked out of ten on there appearance, what about the poor Girls who do not win? Are the judges saying they are somehow inferior to the winner? Pageants undermined all that women have worked so incredibly hard for, equality.
It is obvious that these pushy parents are desperately trying to fulfil their own obsessions for beauty

does the lemon juice in your hair thing really make your hair color lighter? & does the Vaseline on your eyelashes really make them longer? & if anyone has tried either of these please tell me how you did it. thanks(:

i was planning on buying an eyelash curler, but i wanted to know if they really work.

I need to wear fake lashes for a concert. I need to know if eyelash curlers work well on fake (the pasting-on kind) lashes. or will it damage the fake lashes?

I bought an eyelash curler thinking it would be more effective, but I cannot see any difference at all.
I followed the directions (which seemed simple enough). I have the red La Cross curler, & it has a plastic piece that lets you know when it’s heated. I made sure I had new batteries, & I held it on my lashes for 10-20 seconds. Not only is this not curling my lashes, but it’s also uncomfortable, so I wonder if I’m doing something wrong, or if my lashes are really just that bad?

What brand of mascara do you use? Can it be removed with only water? Is is gentle on the eyelashes? Any answers are helpful. Thanks so much, everyone. Your help is very much appreciated!

My eyelashes are typical asian ones. THey go strait downish. Does anyone know if Shu uemura curlers work on them?

Instead of relying on just the medical advice/details, I like talking to people on Yahoo Answers. I’ve gotten alot of good answers on here.
The doctor told me, I have a sty from a hair follicle. So she gave me erythromycin opthalmic ointment.
The sty – bump – chalazion, feels like a ingrown hair, but I think the cause is from dust, or allergies.
I’m not ruling out her opinion of it being a eyelash, I just think there are other possibilites of the exact cause.
Let me get to my questions.
Does erythromycin opthalmic ointment really work ?
( i’ve read that this stuff is used for a number of things, is this true )
Your suppose to lean back, & drop a ointment in the eye, which seems impossible.
Can’t I just wash my hands, put it on my finger, then touch under my eyelid with it ?
I like learning, & love learning about cures, so that when a problem comes up, I know how to treat it, & what medicine to use.

Mine fell out & I am willing to do anything to help them grow back faster.

I see a big trend with people getting eyelash extensions, will a nice mascara bring my eyelashes out just as good any brands you suggest??

I’ve heard good things about this mascara, which offers fiber extensions to your eyelashes. However, I’m not used to spending $25 on mascara, so, can anyone tell me if it’s worth it?

Vasaline has no properties in it which would help you grow eyelashes.

It works with eyelash glue & careful placement. You can get entire strips of eyelashes to to either lengthen or make your natural lashes appear fuller. Or you can get single ones that you intersperse among your natural lashes. The single ones usually look more real – but false lashes have come a long way, & if you’ve got a steady hand, are easy on the glue & careful how you place them, a strip of eyelashes looks real & natural too.
They also now make two-step mascaras – the first step is white & has nylon – I think – fibers in it, you brush this on, & then step two is the black/brown mascara. L’Oreal Volume Shocking is the best of this type of product available now!
